ArcPad 7.1 is not compatible with GeoWeed

We have been told by Barry Levine, the chief programmer for TNC WIMS and one of the programmers of GeoWeed, that changes in ESRI ArcPad 7.1 make it incompatible with GeoWeed (and with earlier versions of WIMS).

When we have some funding and calendar time, we'll address that. For now GeoWeed's handheld component continues to require ArcPad 6.03 or 7.01.

GeoWeed 3.3.3 Available

We are releasing version 3.3.3 to our partners and all interested parties.

This is mostly a bug fix release, with some improvements suggested by experience with supporting our partners in using the software.

We will be updating our Team Arundo del Norte partners to this release as we have time.

See the Download link to obtain it (remember that you have to register first)

GeoWeed 3.3.0 Released

GeoWeed 3.3.0 has been released for all users.

We recommend upgrading all installations from earlier releases. This requires starting a new empty database and importing your data from WIMS 3 Beta or earlier versions of GeoWeed 3.x, as described in the User Guide.

The new GeoWeedRun file will not work directly with earlier GeoWeedData files (eg: GeoWeedData3.1), as the data layout (schema) has changed somewhat. However, all earlier GeoWeedData files can be imported to a new GeoWeedData 3.3 file.

New GeoWeed User Guide available

The new User Guide for GeoWeed (3.3) is available from this website. It contains both conceptual overviews as well as step by step guides using screen shots. Please download and read this before attempting to use GeoWeed. While the program becomes fairly intuitive with use, there are a number of steps to installing and configuring it which require explanation.

Powerpoint Slideshows from the June Trainings

As promised, the Powerpoint slideshows from the recent trainings are available on the website. GeoWeed is still under active development and may vary somewhat from these slides at the detail level, but they will remain generally useful for concepts and overview.
